What is this Endocannabinoid System (ECS) and How do we manage our ECS wellness?
Our ECS is a major signaling network between the brain, the nervous system, and our peripheral organs.
Keeping the ECS balanced, which our products promote, is key to living healthy!
The ECS is a homeostatic regulator of neurotransmitter activity and almost every other physiological system in the body.
In simplest terms, our ECS is comprised of these 10 organs: Brain, Bowels, Heart, Kidneys, Skin, Liver, Stomach, Lungs, Eyes, Bones/Teeth - the first Diagram below is a vague representation of the human body's internal (endo) web connecting endocannabinoid systems receptors (CB1 and CB2) throughout brain and body.
All these receptors require nutrients to maintain balance, or homeostasis, of the physiological processes found in the brain and body.CB1 and CB2 receptors monitor, heal, and balance these ECS physiological processes: Memory, Insulin, Energy metabolism, Mood, Fat metabolism, Pain Sensation, Appetite, Inflammation.
In the past two decades, research discovered many plant foods and herbs directly and indirectly modulate the ECS.
